Hosting your own domain name is very beneficial to your business. Customers will remember your site if it is on a dot com format. In addition, owning your own domain gives you a Cpanel. This is like your control panel on your computer.

Here you can customize and set up your site back up, FTP accounts, check your bandwidth, manage your SQL database and PHP configurations. You can also manage your own mailing server and other social media applications for marketing.

This is far better than your typical blogging control panel. Since your website receives many clicks every day, you will need to have an expanded space – and a host server will grant you this features.

How to Apply for a Host Server?

Applying for a host server is not free but there are sites that I have found on the internet that provides free hosting.

The last time I have checked, I stumbled to a web-hosting site where you will have 10 gigabytes of storage memory plus, no web ads or any pop-ups, and you will have your own control panel.

The free hosting server also provides its clients with their own mail server and FTP site. I have done these things – before I secured my own free domain.

Stumbled through an Ad offering free web hosting, 24/7 support, and no ads on it. I clicked on the ad and landed on their page.I Signed up and they let me choose, either a sub-domain – which has 4 GB disk space, or create my own domain with 10 GB space. I was skeptical at that moment because I know – it pays to have your own domain.Next, they asked me for personal information such as name, company, phone number, state, and country.I hit the submit button and they prompt me with that registration was successful along with the order number. They also told me to verify my account my checking the verification link mailed to me.They sent me three email messages – which served as a record of my registration. It contains all the important information about my domain, my account name, password, company name, IP address of my site, and a link to my control panel (Cpanel).I clicked on the Cpanel link and it led me to my site control panel. There, I found all the buttons needed to customize my website, along with the bandwidth and storage information.I clicked on my domain link – which was myname.com – but it was still not "propagated" through the net. 

Propagation is a process where the DNS servers will update their records – since your new domain is new, it will usually take few hours or 48 hours to appear in the World Wide Web. Those are the things I have done for me to have my own domain name.I hope this how to apply for a host server article helped you.

Many of these hosting sites are on beta release and are just testing the market. However, there are also free hosting sites that's free forever because they earn by putting web ads.
